HPL Honeycomb Panel is a three-layer sandwich panel, consisted of two layers of HPL sheets as top & bottom skins laminated to a light-weighted honeycomb core. HPL is short for high pressure laminate, and for the core options it can be with PP honeycomb core or aluminium honeycomb core.
HPL (high pressure laminate) is composed of a resin impregnated kraft paper, a decorative paper and a clear melamine overlay. It is a thin sheet being used as decorative surface for it's nice colors, textures and high durability, commonly being seen to be used for furnitures, paritions, wall cladding etc. Due to it's just a thin layer (most of the time less than 2mm thick), so it has to be glued to a certain substrate to make it strong. We generally will see HPL to be bonded with MDF, Plywood, Particleboard, but these traditional substrates are heavy and easy to damage by damp or termite. HPL honeycomb panel can perfectly solve all the above problems and to replace all the above traditional applications of HPL.
HPL Honeycomb Panel has all the same finishes and colors like HPL sheets (high pressure laminate) have because the top & bottom skins are HPL.
The HPL honeycomb panel surface is strong and impact resistant, waterproof, chemical resistant and stain resistant, easy to clean etc, because the skins are made of phenolic resin-impregnated craft paper.
Owing to the hollow light-weighted honeycomb core, HPL honeycomb panel is also light weighted but strong & rigid enough. It’s much lighter in weight when comparing to compact HPL at the same thickness, so it can be an ideal replacement to compact HPL.
HPL honeycomb panel can be easily cut by same types of tools used for cutting solid HPL sheet (high pressure laminate).
Furniture panels. HPL honeycomb panel is ideal to be used to making furniture, such as cabinets, bedroom closets, tables, desks, benchtops, doors etc.
Architectural panels. HPL honeycomb panel can be used for high traffic areas such as toilet cabin & toilet partition, ceiling panels, interior wall partitions.
