What are Copper Honeycomb Panels?

Copper Honeycomb Panel is a composite panel that made of two layers of copper sheets being laminated to a hexagonal aluminium honeycomb core. Bottom skin layer can be aluminium sheet instead of copper sheet to achieve a more affordable cost.

Copper has been used as decoration materials for very long time, like in Western countries we can frequently see roofing, facade, drainage and gutters done with copper materials, for copper itself is a very living material that have long life span and amazing decoration effect as the natural oxidization & patination process goes on. But solid copper sheets are heavy, soft & expensive, so making copper into honeycomb panel can just perfectly solve these problems.

Features of Copper Honeycomb Panels:

1. Classic & organic look. Copper Honeycomb Panel has natural copper sheet as top skin, it has same classic & luxury look and will naturally oxidize and age like all coppers do when it’s exposed to air, it will gradually develop brown color and eventually to a green patina look, this will gives the building a long lasting organic look.

2. Low maintenance. Copper material possesses anti-microbial quality which makes bacteria & fungus difficult to grow on the copper surface, so there is no special care or maintenance is required.

3. Cost effective. Copper honeycomb panel just use a thin layer of copper sheets as skin, generally 0.7mm to 1mm thick, but the whole honeycomb panel is even much stronger and more flat than 4mm solid copper panels while the cost is much lower.

4. Light weighted & sound insulation. The hollow hexagonal honeycomb core makes the honeycomb panel look thick but very light weighted and sound absorbent.

5. Copper honeycomb panel is fire rated, deemed as noncombustible materials as per EN13501-1 or BS476 Part 4.

6. It's a fully recyclable green material, copper & aluminum core layers can be separated and recycled when the panel is no longer needed, that reduces the waste of natural resources.

Applications of Copper Honeycomb Panels:

1. Architectural purpose, being used as façade cladding panels, interior wall decoration panels, roofing panels, ceiling panels etc.

2. Copper furniture, such as cabinets, door panels etc.
